Hi Pack 508 Families,
Before we all head off into the summer, I'd like to take a moment to look back on our past Scouting year.
Hopefully you will all agree that Pack 508 has had a great year! Here are a few highlights:
We welcomed 18 new Scouts into our pack!
We awarded 48 badges of rank to our Scouts, a great achievement!
80% of our Arrow of Light Scouts are continuing their adventure, and have joined a Scouts BSA troop!
6 new adults became registered leaders!
In addition to all of our great yearly activities, we added some new activities to the mix:
We participated in Scouting For Food for the first time in recent years. Our pack collected 748 pounds of food (enough to completely fill the bed of a pickup truck). All of this helps families in need in our local community.
We added our 1-night March campout to Uvas Canyon County Park. With this addition, we had 4 camping opportunities this past year, a high number for any Cub Scout pack!
We increased our community involvement, by being color guard at SFC's Salute to the Flag concert, hosting a spooky campsite at SFC's Trunk-or-Treat event, and by being color guard at our county supervisor's swearing in ceremony.
We attended Scout Day at Hiller Aviation Museum.
Of course, none of this would be possible without all of our wonderful volunteers!
Our amazing den leaders, who tirelessly work to create a fun and engaging program for our kids. Thank you Colin, Madeleine, Eric, Kyle, Tae, Vijay, Allison, James D, Deirdre, and James C!
Our committee members who are working behind the scenes to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Thank you Thiru, Prashant, Jackson, and John!
Our popcorn kernel, whose fundraising efforts ensure that we can have an amazing program for our kids. Thank you Yash!
Our grubmasters who kept us all fed and happy at our fall campout. Thank you Shazia and Melissa!
Our pinewood derby volunteers, who ensured a fun and smooth race for our Scouts. Thank you Tae, Vijay, James D, Matt, Thiru, Renuka, Madeleine, Staffen, Netta, Eran, and Chaitanya!
Our Blue & Gold Celebration organizers. Thank you Renuka and Thiru!
Our Scout-O-Rama booth organizer. Thank you Jackson!
Our Scouting For Food organizers. Thank you Arrow of Light den!
Our Raingutter Regatta organizers. Thank you Webelos den!
Our Winter Carnival organizers. Thank you Bear den!
Our Year End Picnic organizers. Thank you Tiger and Wolf dens!
Our Holiday Donation Drive organizers. Thank you Lion den!
Our den chiefs, who help to inspire our Cub Scouts to continue in their Scouting adventure. Thank you Eyal, Mohit, and Jemma!
With so many people helping out in so many ways, it's hard to keep track of it all! My deepest apologies if I have missed an event or volunteer above. I know that so many of our pack families help out in so many different ways, and your contributions are greatly appreciated. It's only with all of us pulling together that we're able to make Pack 508 a fun, enriching, and special place for our kids.
As you probably know, this was my first year as Cubmaster. I've personally learned a lot over the past year, and am continuing to grow in my own Scouting adventure. It has been an honor serving in this role, and I look forward to continuing the adventure with all of you in the next Scouting year!
